For teachers

A field trip app for teachers who run the whole trip themselves

The Trip Binder replaces the paper binder, the permission-slip pile and the group text. Import your roster, hand each chaperone their group, take attendance in seconds, and know that the right adult can see the right allergy — all from your phone.

Build the roster once

Import the class list from the spreadsheet you already have. The importer reads names, grades, student IDs, parent contacts, allergies, medications, physician and insurance details, and any custom column you need, such as T-shirt size or lunch choice. It remembers your column mapping, so the next trip takes one step.

  • Students and adults on the same roster, each marked as student or adult traveler
  • Custom fields you define per trip, including medical ones that stay hidden from people who should not see them
  • A join code students and parents enter in the app, with your approval before anyone is linked to a child

Attendance that takes seconds, not a clipboard

Every chaperone marks their own students on their own phone, and everyone sees the same live count. When the head count is done, one tap tells all staff who is missing, by name. It keeps working without a signal and syncs when the bus leaves the tunnel.

Medical and emergency details, shared on purpose

You decide, per chaperone and per category, who can see medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs and emergency contacts — for the whole trip, one group, one bus or a single student. Families can withhold what they do not want shared. A hidden detail never shows as "none on file", so nobody assumes a child has no allergies.

Keep families informed without a group text

Post announcements, share the day-by-day schedule with pinned locations, and send a meeting point that opens a map with walking directions. Families follow along in the app or through a portal link that needs no account. Students always have one chat that reaches every staff member at once.

Built for a school, not a travel agency

There is nothing to install on a school network and no IT ticket to file. It runs on the web, on iPhone and on Android. Staff sign in with a school Google or Microsoft account or an emailed code, and student records are removed on a schedule after the trip ends.

Common questions

How much does The Trip Binder cost?
Day trips are free, with unlimited travelers and chaperones. Overnight trips, multi-date trips, hotels and rooming lists need the Pro plan, which is $49.99 a year for the organizer. Chaperones, travelers and families never pay.
Do students and parents need an account?
No. A trip works with only the organizer and chaperones signed in. Students and parents can join with a trip code to see the schedule, announcements and chat, and families can use a portal link that needs no account at all.
Does it work without cell service?
Yes. The roster, schedule, attendance and count-offs are kept on the phone. Marks made offline are saved and sync automatically when the connection returns.
Can I control which chaperones see medical information?
Yes. For each chaperone you choose whether they see medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs and emergency contacts for everyone, for nobody, or only for specific groups, buses or students. Organizers and co-organizers always see everything.
