What parents and travelers see in the app

How parents follow their child's trips under Family, what they can edit, and how travelers see and update their own roster record.

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Parents and guardians are not trip members. They follow the trip through their child. Travelers (students and adults on the roster) are trip members and see the trip itself.

Parents and guardians

Once you are linked to your child, open Family (a link in the website's header, a tab on the phone). Each child has a page with:

  • A to-do card for anything waiting on you, such as choosing a room and bus or answering a question from the organizer.
  • Enrolled trips. For each trip the organizer has published, Schedule, updates & documents opens a read-only trip page: travel days, the schedule (in the trip's local time), announcements shared with families, documents shared with everyone, and key contacts. Trip photos opens the album when the trip has one.
  • Health information. Emergency contacts, allergies, dietary restrictions, medical notes, the over-the-counter medicines you allow, and behavioral and other notes. You can add and change these directly; the trip organizers are told when you do. See Health information.
  • Requests. Answer any question the organizer sent you.
  • Documents you upload for the trip team.
  • Who can see this record lists the trip staff and other guardians with access.

Who sees your child's health information

The staff of your child's trip see it, because they look after your child. It is kept for that trip only and deleted 30 days after the trip ends.

Two parents can both be linked to the same child; each has their own access. To link, open the invitation email from the school, or use the trip code with I'm a parent or guardian (see How to join a trip).

Travelers

Students and adult travelers join with the trip code or a personal code. They then see the trip like other members: the schedule, announcements, chat, their own room and roommates, and their bus.

Your roster record is under My profile, in the Your record section:

  • Adult travelers can edit it directly, including their health information and emergency contacts. Changes save straight away and the organizers are told.
  • Students can see their health information and emergency contacts but cannot change them; a parent or the organizer does. A nickname change goes to the organizer with Send nickname for approval. The legal name and date of birth can only be changed by the organizer.

Need help on the trip? Use Ask the staff. Every chaperone and organizer sees it.
