Attendance lives on the Attendance page of each trip, on the website and in the app. Organizers and chaperones can take it. Travelers and parents never mark attendance.
One list everyone follows
Most trips only need one list, called General attendance. Tap Take attendance now to open it. Every phone and computer on the trip follows the same list, so when one chaperone marks a student, everyone else sees it within seconds. A bus count-off marks this same list too.
If you take attendance at set stops, an organizer can create a named checkpoint instead ("Museum entrance", for example). Choosing a checkpoint switches the whole trip to it. On the website, Use for everyone does the same thing for an older checkpoint.
Marking
- Present-only (the simple mode): tap a name to check them in, tap again to undo. Anyone not tapped shows as "Not checked in". There is no absent mark in this mode.
- Present / Tardy / Absent: pick one of the three for each traveler. Picking the same one again clears it.
Organizers choose the mode at the top of the Attendance page on the website, or under Customize on the phone. All present (phone) marks everyone in the current view at once.
You can filter by group and search for a name. On the phone, Unmarked only shows who is left, and Customize changes sorting and grouping.
Who is counted
Who's counted decides whether the list is Travelers only or Everyone (includes staff). Choose Everyone if you also want chaperones and organizers checked in.
If the organizer limited a chaperone to their own group, that chaperone sees and marks only their group's travelers. See Chaperone groups.
On a multi-date trip, anyone marked "not traveling" today is left out of the count.
Tell the staff
When you are done, tap Notify staff. Every other staff member gets one message, such as "All 41 accounted for" or the names of anyone not checked in. Nothing is sent automatically; a person always decides when to send it.
Starting fresh
- Auto-clear General attendance (organizers): clear the list after a set time with no one marking, from 15 minutes up to 4 hours. Named checkpoints are never cleared.
- Reset marks (phone, on a checkpoint) clears every mark but keeps the checkpoint.
Each traveler's attendance history is kept even when a list is cleared.
No signal
On the phone, marks made without a connection are saved and sent when you are back online. If a mark fails to save, the app tells you so you can tap again.
