Each trip has one shared Photos album. Instead of photos scattered across forty phones and group texts, everyone adds to the same place, and families at home can follow along.
Who sees it
- Everyone on the trip: organizers, chaperones and travelers who joined.
- Parents and guardians of travelers on the trip, from their child's page. They can view, download and report photos, but not add them.
Adding photos
Open Photos from the trip menu on the website or Trip tools in the app, and choose Add photos. You can pick up to 30 at a time.
Photos are resized on your phone or computer before they upload, so a whole day's worth goes up quickly. Location data stored in the photo is removed. Original full-resolution files are not kept.
The album groups photos by the day they were taken. A photo can also be linked to an event on the schedule.
On a phone, the album needs a recent version of the app. If it says Update the app to see trip photos, update from the App Store or Play Store.
Who can add, and approving first
Organizers choose in Trip settings › Photo album:
- Who can add photos: Everyone on the trip, Staff only (organizers and chaperones) or Organizers only.
- Approve photos first: photos from chaperones and travelers wait until an organizer approves them. Organizers' own photos go straight in.
While a photo waits, only the person who added it and the organizers can see it. Organizers review the Waiting list and choose Approve or Don't approve. A photo that is not approved stays visible only to the person who added it, marked "Not approved". The uploader hears the outcome in one short notification.
Hiding, deleting and reporting
- Organizers can Hide any photo (it can be shown again later) or delete it.
- You can delete your own photos.
- Anyone who can see the album can report a photo. Organizers are told right away and can hide or delete it.
Downloading
- Website: select photos (or Select all) and download them as one .zip of full-size photos.
- Phone: select photos and choose Save to Photos.
Limits
- Free plan: 300 photos per trip.
- Pro: no set limit on the album.
- Each person can add up to 200 photos a day.
Photos do not count toward the trip's document storage. See Plans and pricing.
